I've always been skeptical about the worth of a university degree as an investment. Now a Daily Mail article has reported that half of graduates since Labour came to power are still not earning above £15,000, and so cannot repay their student loans.
About 2 weeks ago a student came up to me in the street to ask for directions. He revealed he was studying for an MBA. He then asked me if I knew where to find any jobs as needed money and he had met with failure at the job centre. An MBA is supposed to be the highest business qualification you can get, yet it is not even a guarantee of future earnings. The book "The Millionaire Mind" by Thomas Stanley long ago documented the problems highly qualified people have, finding and retaining work.
We are about to experience one of the biggest recessions the world has ever known. Companies are cutting staffing numbers and reducing pay. More gloom lies ahead for graduates.
