Procrastination

Procrastination is the thief of time. It can seem like there is so much to do, or we may feel uncertain of our ability to start and complete a financial plan. Instead of focussing time and effort on getting the job done, it is easy to just relax and let time and money slip through our fingers. When it is hard to put the effort in, this is called procrastination.

Do you think you are going to rich if you can't even be bothered to get started, or to put in some effort, or to do some research? I remember looking at all the things wealthy people claimed to do with their lives, and asking how they got it all done. I later learned it was due to good time management.

Good books on procrastination and time management that I have, and reccommend are: Procrastination: why you do it, what to do about it - by Burkha & Yuen, The Procrastinators Handbook - Rita Emmett, Get everything done, and still have time to play - by Mark Forster. Also, The Power of Focus - by Canfield & others has excellent strategies to get started on your plans. The 7 habits of highly effective people - by Stephen Covey is also a good book.

Time management is essential to get the most out of your day and life. I would never be able to do all the things I do each day without organizing my time. Things never go exactly according to plan, but I have noticed that I am always significantly better off with a plan than without one.

People always say "I'll get wealthy tomorrow", or "I don't feel like doing my work today". I don't want to be one of those people. I want to be able to juggle multiple plans and really get things done in my life, and in my finances. For the moneyseeking to progress, the procrastination must stop.
