Mikey Carroll, the so called "lotto lout" who won 10 million on the lottery and spent it frivolously, has finally run out of money after 7 years, and is now signing on for government benefits (the dole, probably £42 per week). All that money has just gone up in smoke.
He is perfect proof that it is a person's habits, and beliefs, that make them wealthy. His habits were not to monitor his money, not to account for it, or do any form of budgeting, planning or investing whatsoever. As for his beliefs, he did not believe that money is a good thing. Before winning the lottery he was a dustman and now claims he's HAPPIER being penniless and wants his old job back! He said "I'll do anything to earn a pound or two now."
Notice the contradiction between him saying he's happier without money, yet he still wants to get money from a job in order to live decently, and is currently on benefits. In spite of wasting all of that money, he still needs money to live on which is why he has to claim the dole. Money is important for survival, so obviously the more you have of it, the better. It is a shame to see all of that money go up in smoke, but it just shows that unless you want to be wealthy, you will never be able to hold on to your money.
