Gill Fielding secret millionaire vs Duncan Bannatyne

There is a brilliant TV show called The Secret Millionaire, where a covert rich person gives a load of money to charity. One millionaire was a wealth coach named Gill Fielding. I researched that she is selling her main DVD set “Lessons and Learnings of The Secret Millionaire”. In order to assess the worthiness of buying her materials, I compared her product to other wealth information on sale from one of my favourite millionaires, Duncan Bannatyne. I always research and compare the value of anything, to see if its a a good deal. Here is my research and conclusion:

The credentials
  • Duncan Bannatyne is one of the millionaire stars of the popular TV show Dragons Den, and is the richest of all the entrepreneurs on that show, with a net worth estimated at 310 million. This amount was stated by the Sunday Times Rich list.
  • Gill Fielding was on the TV show The Secret Millionaire and is a wealth coach and investor. Her wealth is around 15 million. This was stated by the TV show “The Secret Millionaire” and also by herself. In the program she famously claimed to spend 33k per month on random “knick-naks”.

The cost
  • Gill Fielding's main DVD set: “Lessons and Learnings of The Secret Millionaire” costs £125 when tax and delivery charges are included. You can buy it at www.wealthcompany.com.
  • Duncan Bannatyne's 3 books combined (“Anyone can do it”, “Wake up and change your life”, “How to be smart with your money”) cost £20.57 on www.Amazon.co.uk Duncan's website is http://www.duncanbannatyne.co.uk/

The facts
  • Duncan Bannatyne is almost 21 times richer than Gill Fielding, yet charges one sixth of what she does!
  • Gill Fielding's main DVD set: “Lessons and Learnings of The Secret Millionaire” costs almost 6 times more than Duncan Bannatyne's 3 books put together, yet her net worth is a fraction of his.

The conclusion
I love money and I will take every reasonable opportunity to learn more, in order to get more. Duncan Bannatyne's books are clearly the better information, and the better bargain. There is no evidence that Gill Fielding has a run a successful business, other than her financial education business. I am always skeptical of financial gurus who only seem to be able to make money, from selling information about money.

Compared to a mega-millionaire like Duncan Bannatyne (£310m), Gill (£15m) is 20.6 times NOT as wealthy. Bannatyne's 3 books: Wake up and change your life, Anyone can do it, How to be smart with your money, all added together, sell for £20.57 brand new on Amazon. In addition, you can watch a video of Duncan's rise to wealth for free, on YouTube.

Gill's main DVD set costs £125, this is 6 times more expensive than all of Bannatyne's financial information put together, yet it is Bannatyne who is is 20.6 times richer. That doesn't make sense. Her stuff should actually be 20.6 times less expensive, based on real-life accomplishment. Therefore her DVD set should be priced at.......... £0.99p!! That's right, ninety nine pence! In fact, everything she offers put together should be £0.99p, when compared to all of Bannatyne's stuff. I'm just applying my mathematical mind to this. However good her methods are, Bannatyne's methods are indisputably better.

I will never turn my back on affordable, reasonably priced, knowledge from rich people.Duncan Bannatyne fits this category. In the book the Richest Man in Babylon, the son of the richest man, who lost his money on get rich quick schemes says: “If I had sought knowledge first, my gold would not have been lost”. Seek knowledge, before you seek money, but if you must pay for knowledge, try to get it as cheaply, and as high a quality as possible.

Always thoroughly research any 'wealth guru' on the internet before taking any of their advice.
