The Real Hustle

The Real Hustle is a great TV show which details the fact that there are many professional swindlers who will do and say anything to take your money.

Keeping your money safe is always very important. It is amazing the lengths people will go to, to part you from your cash. The mantra of the show is that if a deal looks too good to be true, it usually is. The amazing thing is that real con artists train very hard, and work in groups so you are fooled by their accomplices too.

I once went to a financial seminar and some of the audience members there claimed to have used the speakers techniques and become rich. When I went to the toilet, I also overheard 2 people having a conversation about how rich they had become using the speakers methods. It was so obviously staged, as they stood right inside the entrance of the toilet, and spoke loud enough for everyone in there to hear. These people were all in on the act and went out of their way to make the seminar look real.

A good book to read is: Influence by Robert Cialdini which is the leading source on how people are persuaded to do things.

In life, people might offer you deals that seem too good to be true, and many other people might recommend them, but beware, because they could all be in on the act. If something looks too good to be true, it usually is. Always check potential deals out, and think them through for yourself.

You can go to YouTube and watch clips of The Real Hustle, or look at the official website.
