The final of The Apprentice UK, will be on TV this Sunday. On one side we have Kate, the image of perfection who never seems to put a foot wrong. In the other corner is Yasmina, who has the advantage of actually running her own business.
Who is going to win? I put my bet on Yasmina, as Kate just seems too perfect, almost unreal. Too good to be true. With all of Kate's incredible ability, she seems destined to end up as a highly paid corporate person, yet Yasmina is actually the one with the greater courage and potential, due to running her own business.
The contrast between the two contestants shows that once you start running your own business, the gloves are off. You can be successful without slaving away for someone else every day ,and hoping that somebody will promote you eventually. Therefore, it doesn't matter if no corporation employs you, after all they can only employ a few people anyway. Yasmina's story shows that if you believe in yourself and your abilities, why would you bother to work for anyone else. That's why Yasmina gets my vote.
The Sun newspaper ran a story this week about how Alan Sugar's friend, Paul Kemsley who helped out in the interviews in the last series has had recent difficulties with one of his companies going bust. It appears to be only one of his companies which is experiencing difficulties, and I bet he was smart enough to split all of his businesses up into separate entities so he wouldn't be affected by the collapse of one. That's what Richard Branson, Donald Trump, and other successful people usually do. I can't see this setback finishing off Paul, and the story shows that in spite of his vast wealth, he was always actively seeking ways of increasing it.
